About Room Seven It was fun growing up in a very close and creative family watching my father and mother design and build the Dutch Children’s Brand, Oilily. As a little girl I remember that my brother, both my sisters and I were playing hide and seek between the big rolls of fabric piled up in my parents warehouse. When I got a bit older I was helping my mother to cut fabric swatches to make her style-books, again a bit older we were taken along to fabric shows in Paris (very exciting at the age of 13!), so at a young age seeing fabrics, colours and motifs everywhere around was all very normal to me. After my studies in 1994, I wanted to do my own thing and started out by opening a shop in Alkmaar Holland selling a mixture of textiles and antiques that I would find on my trips to India. While I enjoyed this and still have the shop, I couldn’t resist my love for textiles and I began making quilts out of available fabrics. We sold them in the shop and the sales took off and soon I was designing a whole bedding collection with my own exclusive prints sold throughout Europe. When I had my first daughter five years ago it started to be very tempting to use the beautiful prints that we develop for each bedding collection also for children’s clothing. That is how we started to make a clothing line for girls and boys; the Room Seven clothing line was born. A colorful mix of checks and prints creates the typical Room Seven handwriting. Room Seven is now sold in 30 countries around the world. Hereby we present you our Summer 2008 Collection. When we think of summer we think of happy sunny days and holidays on the beach. That is what we had in mind creating this collection with bright and joyful colours. The collection features classical rose bunches, elegant poppy prints, bold retro flowers, sweet mini flowers, all combined with fun checks and stripes. The colours Room Seven has used for girls are; ocean blue, sunshine yellow, apple green and a pink like a fresh glass of grenadine lemonade to cool down on a warm summer day. All can be combined with crispy white dresses, pants and skirts. We have outfits for schooldays, days on the beach, and fully embroidered skirts and dresses for parties in the sun. Of course a little knitted cardigan to put on top when it cools down at night is not missing. Multiple combinations are possible with many new styles of skirts, dresses, pants, blouses and schoolbags and you have a new, unique summer outfit for your children. For new born mamas there are fun diaper bags to carry all baby belongings in style. For boys we have used different shades of sky blue, bright red and grass green mixed with more natural tones like sand, white and kaki, giving the collection an overall fresh summer feeling. We made a print reminiscent of the waves of the water appropriately embroidered with a surfside scene, you will find patchwork of checks and stripes, and for the little ones there is a sweet little tiger. The Room Seven bedding breathes the same summer feeling. You will find an elegant all white full embroidered range. There is an aqua blue range with bold flowers and funky quilts for the bigger girls. And of course red and pink for the little girls is a must in any Room Seven collection. All bedding items are refined in detail showing numerous fun embroideries ranging from little ducky, party mushrooms and a wide variety of summer birds and flowers. Needless to say pyjamas and night suits to match are available. “Animals in the City” is the bedding theme for boys. You will find ‘Flying-zebra-air.com’, ‘Driving fox, ‘family’ and ‘Tiger for president’. We are sure your boy will love these fun characters.
